What is the cleanest city in Ghana?
Sunyani is the cleanest city in Ghana.
in 2007 Sunyani was Awarded or voted as the cleanest and settlement city in Ghana.
Sunyani is surrounded by forested highlands in southwestern central Ghana. In the nineteenth century, the town of Sunyani became an advanced camp for elephant hunters; Its name comes from the Akan word for elephant, ‘Osono’.
In 1924, the ial colonial government nominated Sunyani as the district seat.
Since the construction of a road connecting the town of Sunyani and Kumasi, Sunyani has become an important center for the distribution of staple food such as cocoa, cola nuts, and corn, and yam.
Today, Sunyani is the residence of the Brong-Ahafo Regional Government and the High Court. Although small enough compared to Kumasi, Sunyani is growing rapidly and has effectively swallowed the suburbs of Fiapre and Abesim, among others. Sunyani is a clean, well-maintained city with a thriving economy.
Sunni’s economy is mainly dependent on agriculture, with about%% of the population engaged in agricultural production. About 24% of the population is employed in the service sector, followed by trade and industry which employ 15% and 13% of the population, respectively.
Many women and unskilled people are involved in the business, especially in the Wednesday market. The city is growing as a result of the high-quality water supply from Sunyani. The Volta River Authority (VRA) supplies Suniani electricity.
Water sources include rainwater and streams, rivers, and springs. However, in severe (dry) hermetic conditions, water can become more difficult to access.
