The guy and two other adults reacted to the incident, which was reported early on Friday morning on Selden Neck Island in Selden Neck State Park, by ultimately killing the lynx, according to the State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
Adults who were hurt were brought to a hospital. Their circumstances weren’t available. First responders removed the campers from the island following the incident, according to the department, even though they had no interaction with the bobcat.
The body of the bobcat was taken to a medical facility to be checked for rabies, according to the Energy and Environmental Protection Department.
According to NBC Connecticut, the excursion was part of the state Department of Children and Families’ Wilderness School, a program for young people’s development. According to its website, the program offers year-round hiking, camping, and canoeing adventures, among other things.
Because they lead lonely lives and frequently travel far and alone in search of prey, bobcats rarely assault people. However, according to scientists, human progress and urban expansion pose the largest threats.
